Top 8 Valentine's Day Date Ideas with a Tight Budget

Valentine's Day is coming so close, and I'm here to share with you creative Valentine's Day date ideas with a tight budget this year. We believe that spending quality time with your honey does not have to be expensive.

Now, in the article below, I share with you 8 Valentine's Day date ideas with a tight budget. Let's get started!

1. Go Camping

Valentines Day date ideas-Go camping

One of my absolute favorite date ideas with my boyfriend is camping. We tented in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness for five days, which was incredible!! A tent, some firewood (don't forget matches), food (I like to cook hot dogs and brats), sunscreen, insect spray, a lighter, and some beer are all you'll need. My boyfriend also brought his guitar which was a nice touch since we love to sing together when we camp. Check around with the local campsite in your area for availability and prices. And remember that you can always pitch a tent at a state park for free!

2. Stargazing/Astronomy

Another cheap Valentine's Day date idea with your loved one is to get out of the city lighting and check out the stars. You can do this activity on a beach, in the mountains or even at home. I took my boyfriend outside for stargazing dates more than once during our relationship because it's definitely romantic. We used to spend hours on the hood of his car, staring into the night sky. This is a perfect time on Valentine's Day.

3. Bowling

This might not be an activity you'd typically think of as romantic but trust me it can be. My boyfriend and I love bowling together so much so that we've even taken his parents bowling. It's a great activity to do with your hubby because you can both goof around and have fun, but it can also be competitive. Whether you are playing in a league or just doing some casual games with friends, I recommend getting out there!

4. Going to a Park

Parks are so lovely in the spring and summer. There's nothing more romantic than cuddling up next to your honey while enjoying nature, especially after it starts getting cold. Make sure to pack a blanket or two so you can snuggle up with each other and have a picnic lunch.

5. Cooking Together

Cooking Together- Valentines Date Idea

This is another cheap Valentine's Day date idea that my boyfriend and I do together a lot. In fact, it is something we enjoy doing on a daily basis as well as doing on special occasions. Cooking can be romantic because you get to spend time with your loved one while getting some good exercise in the kitchen. It's also fun to try new recipes together! Here are a couple of our favorite recipes.

6. Going to Local Festivals or Fairs

Each year there are tons of festivals and fairs that take place all over the country. I love going with my boyfriend to these events because they are always so much fun! We got to go last year during our "festive" date night for his birthday, which was awesome. You'll usually find lots of food, music, and games. So have fun!!

7. Visiting a Museum

We love going to museums even if we only have a couple of hours to spare. If you want something a little different than your typical art museum, I recommend checking local history museums or science museums in your neighborhood - they're both intriguing! There's nothing like checking out all of the cool exhibits with your honey. In addition, the entrance ticket is free, so you can enjoy a perfect Valentine's Day date without spending money.

8. Taking in a Film Under the Stars

When I was younger, my family and I use to do this all of the time during warm summer nights. We would grab some blankets and pillows and go camping in our backyard for movie night. Movies make everything more fun! You can watch a movie at home or go to the drive-in theater. Either way, it's something fun to do with your honey.

Conclusion

This list of inexpensive Valentine's Day date ideas is a mix of some of my favorite activities that I've done together as well as a few ideas I came up with to share. As a heads up, these date ideas won't be too exciting to the ladies out there who have been dating their significant others for years but it can definitely help those who are on a tight budget and looking for some cool things to do on Valentine's Day date ideas.
